If you were waiting with bated breath to see the Studio DC premeire, it’s been moved to August 3 at 8 p.m. Eastern. Guess they figured they had already waited a year since filming to show it; a few more weeks won’t hurt.

Mark your calendar for July 19!!
Susan Villas Lewis
This is really more of a Muppets-related post than Sesame Street, but it involves Kermit, so it counts.
Kermit and the rest of the Muppets gang will be a part of Studio DC: Almost Live premiering July 19 at 8 pm ET on Disney. (In case you didn’t know, Disney bought the Muppets several years ago. It’s almost like they’re just remembering they had them in the closet.)
Kermit gets to do a duet of “Bop to the Top” with Ashley Tisdale. (Photo on Kermit’s page.) Not entirely sure what I think about that. Just can’t quite see Kermit holding his own in a duet with her. But hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised. (Yes, I’m going to watch it. Or at least Tivo it and fast forward a lot.)

Snuffy is visible?
Susan Villas Lewis
When did Snuffy become visible to everyone else on Sesame Street? Did they just decide they were encouraging kids to use their imaginations too much by having imaginary friends? Just strange to me. No one is supposed to be able to see Snuffy!!

Abby Cadabby costume at last!!
Susan Villas Lewis
Finally have a place to get Abby Cadabby costumes. Not sure I like this one quite as much as the one that’s out of stock, but I don’t think anyone can choose to be ultra-picky at this point.

Green & Loving It line released
Susan Villas Lewis
Did you know Disney owns the Muppets? Kind of a weird combo in my mind, but in case you didn’t - they do. And, wonder of wonders, they’re finally starting to do something with them beyond releasing new DVDs.
Kermit has his own line now promoting the whole green concept. Organic cotton tees, recycled paper journals - all with some really nice, muted designs. Loving them. My favorite is the messenger bag, pictured here. Could totally use it when I run into the store to pick up a few items. Maybe people wouldn’t look at me so weird for wanting to use my own bag.

Weird. Someone stole a post from here.
Susan Villas Lewis
I have a Google Alert set up for Abby Cadabby to make sure I don’t miss any news. My own recent post about watching Sesame Street from this blog showed up this week in an alert. Only listed under someone else’s name and on a different blog! Clicked the link and it took me to a splash page with hot ticket items listed like an iPhone and an eBay search box. Just not the actual text. Totally weird. And annoying.

Just parsing some of the traffic to some …
Susan Villas Lewis
Just parsing some of the traffic to some of my lenses. Why do people come to a lens about throwing an Abby Cadabby party and then just click through to look at pictures of cakes? What can I do about it? Are they planning to do the cake themselves? Should I include cake decorating supplies to help them? Aargh! Just wanting to improve conversion rates, but considering the traffic here is pretty much looky-loo except for the flickr pics, I’m not sure how. OK. Through venting.

Watching Sesame Street
Susan Villas Lewis
I’ve been watching Sesame Street lately in the hopes of seeing Miss Abby Cadabby so I can write a little more about her for my lens or come up with some other ideas for party games, etc. The more I see her, the more adorable she becomes, which is good. She’s just not on there all that often. How’d she get so popular if she’s not actually on the show much? Ya know who is on the show a lot? Elmo. Uggh. Almost half the show is “Elmo’s World” which gets fast-forwarded through at light speed. I had kind of hoped in watching the show that I would find some other lens ideas of characters I like. But ya know - I end up fast forwarding through almost everything, stopping to watch Grover when he shows up because he’s still just the best. But my husband is getting tired of watching Sesame Street.

Kermit on a press tour
Susan Villas Lewis
Kermit and Fozzie (who admits to never having been to Sesame Street) are out on a press tour promoting the release of Season 3 of the The Muppet Show on DVD. It came out May 20. I’ve just added several clips of their interviews on TV shows and radio programs to Kermit’s lens. Funny stuff, although I’m not entirely sure who’s doing the voice of Kermit these days. It’s definitely not right. Sigh.
